I've been addicted to Tame Impala after discovering them recently, and I've only just taken the time to listen to the lyrics of this song. Having never met my father, having never discovered why, the taboo talking about it, not even knowing his name. Maybe he doesn't know mine. This song hits home. A lot. "You're just a man, after all."

First half you can feel his anger and bitterness, second half he became more mature and vulnerable. Amazing summary of stages of grief.

Then he wonders why his dad never contacted him while he could, and what went wrong in his parents marraige, and how he stayed close with his parents as he grew up, but never talked about how his dad left.
